College is committed to providing industry driven solutions for
every business and industry we serve...from manufacturing, to professional
business services, to retail and beyond. We know this not only pays dividends
for our industry and business, but also provides vitality to the local
economy by supporting the communities we serve.
We work to ensure our students have the education they
need to succeed as your employees...offering in-class as well as valuable
hands-on internship opportunities.
We work to ensure that the training we
deliver to your current employees pays for itself long after the class
is over and the workbooks are closed.
We work to ensure that you have the resources you
need to thrive in South Central Kansas and beyond...through employment
connections, city information, economic development information and so
much more.
Some highlights of our recent activities include:
- The Aviation Tech Center, Wichita, Kansas. In
2004, Cowley's world-class aviation maintenance school, the Aviation
Tech Center was established in Wichita to address
the changing needs of the aviation industry. The ATC, as it is often
referred to, will play a vital role in the large scale Kansas Institute
of Technical Excellence (KITE) initiative at Jabara Airport in Wichita,
Kansas.
KITE is
a non–profit organization that contributes to the economic
development of the state of Kansas by engaging stakeholders in
education and training that produces a world–class workforce.
- The Center for Technical Excellence, Winfield,
Kansas. In a joint venture with Winfield Economic Development, Cowley
College opened the Center for Technical Excellence in Winfield in
January of 2007.
- Mechatronics Degree program. Working with the
manufacturing industry in Cowley county, Cowley's Career and Tech
Ed team identified the need to develop the first and only program
in the state of Kansas designed to train specialized maintenance
technicians. Cowley's Mechatronics degree program will be launched
in the Fall of 2007.
