Computer Skills in the Workplace
Windows
New to computers? In this course learn about the physical components and take a brief tour of Windows. Hard drives, floppy disks, CD-ROMs, RAM, ROM, monitors, computer hardware as well as computer terminology—bits, bytes, kilobytes, megabytes, and gigabytes.

File Management
Organization of files and file folders on the hard drive using Windows Explorer and My Computer. Management of files—copying, moving, renaming, and sorting files based on file name, file size, file type, and date created.

Introduction to Computer Applications
What is the difference between operating system software and application software? Comparing word processing, electronic spreadsheets, database, and presentation software. Match task with the correct software.

Get started with the most popular and powerful word processing software available. Intermediate Microsoft Word
Increase your productivity with Microsoft Word by creating Auto Text entries, customizing toolbars, working with Word’s Wizards and Templates, learning about Mail Merge, and setting custom tabs. You will also see how to work with multiple documents simultaneously, copying/cutting and pasting and dragging and dropping text. Dress up your documents by using WordArt, watermarks, and inserting symbols.

Advanced Microsoft Word

Employers of today need employees with effective oral communication skills. Learn successful tips to eliminate a fear many of us have—Public Speaking! Participants will learn how to give a successful presentation, how to use technology to enhance the presentation, and how to create a presentation that will engage the audience.

The Language of Words
In this session, you will learn how to increase your language skills with more effective sentence structure and word choices. Punctuation, grammar, and word usage will also be taught in this session.

E-Mail Usage and Etiquette
Electronic communication is used more and more in today’s workplace. We use e-mail in both our personal and professional lives everyday. Learn the techniques for proper workplace e-mail usage and etiquette in this session.

Medical Terminology for Beginners

Publications
Introduction to Microsoft Publisher Concepts
After completion of this course you will understand how different and unique the MS Publisher software is.  You will never want to use word processing software to publish a document again!  In this session you will design an effective flyer. This project can then be customized and altered to fit your specific organizational needs. You will learn about the software program, how it is similar to other Microsoft software as well as how it is different.  Instructor also goes into detail on the specific options you have to publish your projects including conventional printing as well as web publishing options. 

Intermediate Microsoft Publisher Project
In this session you will design a professional memo. The techniques learned in this course will allow you to recreate the results and customize them to fit your organization.  The student learns how to publish a professional quality memo including a linked Excel based worksheet.  This allows the student to really feel the power of Microsoft Office software.  Instructor also reviews some basic principles of design to help students create a memo that looks truly professional.
