Do I have to be a large
corporation to participate in Corporate Training?
No. We assist businesses
of any size. Remember, our initial consultation with you is free
of charge.
Do
I have to have a Cowley county business to take advantage of Corporate
Training programs?
No.
We work primarily with businesses in our service area…Cowley,
Sedgwick, Sumner and the surrounding counties.
Do
I have to pay for consulting services provided by the Business, Industry
and Entrepreneurship (BIE) Program?
No. You
do not have to pay for technical assistance. However, we may
refer you to some services that have a fee associated with them…accountants,
patent attorneys, investment advisors, etc. or suggest you check
out fee-based programs including educational seminars, classes and
workshops that would be beneficial for you.
Will
you write a business plan for me?
No.
We won’t write a business plan for you. We will assist
you in developing a business plan to support your goals. Click
here to download a business
plan outline at Wichita State University Small Business Development
Center. We will work with you to compile financial projections including
cash flow projections, projected profit and loss statements combined
in a format to show your ability to service your business debt.
If
I use BIE services can I still work with the SBDC and SCORE?
Absolutely. We
encourage you to utilize these and other resources available to you. We
work collaboratively with both organizations as well as with Quad
Enterprise Facilitation in the Eastern part of Cowley county.
Does
it matter what bank I use for financing in order to receive BIE services?
No. We
work with all banks as well as Certified Development Corporations
and other financing sources.
Do
you have a speaker that can talk to my class, group, organization? And
if so, what topics can you cover?
Yes. We
can arrange for a speaker to talk
to your group about training topics, marketing and entrepreneurship
topics.
Do
I have to be a business student to take Entrepreneurship classes?
No. In
fact we know that the students most likely to be entrepreneurs are
not business majors including students that have chosen a course
of study in auto tech, welding tech, cosmetology, graphic design,
art, pre-law and pre-med. We encourage any student that will
likely run their own business to seriously consider Entrepreneurship
I and Entrepreneurship II.
